Universal Hip Hop Museum Teams Up With Terentia to Celebrate and Preserve the History of Hip Hop
Terentia’s platform solutions will support UHHM’s overarching mission—a technology partnership being discussed during the AAM’s annual conference on June 7
The Universal Hip Hop Museum (UHHM) and Terentia, the innovative SaaS platform solution for cultural institutions, today announced a strategic partnership in celebrating and preserving the history of Hip Hop. Terentia’s Digital Asset Management System will enable UHHM to carry out its mission of celebrating and preserving the history of local and global Hip Hop music and culture to inspire, empower, and promote understanding.
“We’re building this organization in the very place Hip Hop started and we need to use the best tools to ensure that we preserve and promote Hip Hop to its fullest,” said Rocky Bucano, Executive Director and President, Universal Hip Hop Museum. “Teaming up with Terentia to ensure we can leverage our legacy to create new and exciting experiences for audiences to discover different elements of Hip Hop just makes sense.”
With the use of Terentia’s dynamic, cloud-native software solutions for digital asset management, collections management, and workflow process, the UHHM and Terentia partnership will allow UHHM to seamlessly access its collections and digital assets to easily design immersive experiences, exhibitions, public programs and so much more to engage, educate and entertain audiences now and in the future.
"Every item in our collection is rich with history that connects to the greater Hip Hop story in a unique way. Terentia offers the museum a solution to organize and share the enormous amount of metadata that Hip Hop culture has created and continues to produce," said Adam Silverstein, Director of Archives and Collections at Universal Hip Hop Museum. "With Terentia as our partner, we are eager to move forward to create a "Universal" class Archives and Collections for the UHHM."
Examples of items in UHHM’s Archives and Collections include:
Screen-Used Custom Low Rider Bicycle hand-signed by Snoop Dogg
Two Bumpboxx Freestyle Boomboxes w/ Signatures from Uncle Jamm's Army 2017 Event
Mixed Media on Repurposed Street Sign - "My Radio (LL Cool J)" 2013

“We’re thrilled to be able to build with the UHHM and add them to our growing community of cultural partners,” said Neal Bilow, Founder and CEO of Terentia. “It’s an honor to know that our technology will help tell the story of Hip Hop and support them to grow into the museum Hip Hop needs and deserves.”
More details on the Terentia and UHHM partnership story will be told at the 2021 AAM Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo on June 7, 2021, in the session: Leveraging the Legacy: Bringing a New Digital Experience to New Audiences.
